The military was full of non-darood soldiers and high ranking generals. These folks then got good fighting experience in the 1977 war. Then MSB had the bright idea to oppress these groups. We see how that turned out.

He is the epitome of 68 iq. You do not empower groups who can challenge your rule. What he should have done, is control the country financially and have the all the key military equipment on the hand of trusted men. Even though the elite group with the most weapons was from his own clan, that didn’t help in the end.

He could have been Jomo Kenyatta of Somalia. Plunder but develop the country, give the keys to a allied group for a while until power returns to your son.

Somalia had exceptionally shortsighted dictator. Man obviously did not know how to play the game.
