The bitter truth is that lightskin is viewed as preferable for girls in pretty much all cultures, and vice versa for men.
Not to say that darkskin girls aren’t attractive, but lightskin being a standard of beauty is ingrained in all cultures. I doubt it will change soon. That’s just the way it is unfortunately
I can’t think of any country that prefers dark skin on women. You can blame colonialism but there’s obviously something deeper there
I personally find both light and dark skin pretty.

What matters much more than skin colour are the facial features. Beauty is objective, there are certain ratios and defined characteristics that make a face more aesthetic. Some of which are having a positive canthal tilt, forward facial projection (defined maxilla, mandible and chin), strong jaw muscles, wide zygos, prominent cheekbones, eyelash thickness, eyebrow shape and size, eye spacing (interpupilary distance), high face width height ratio (FWHR), compact midface, philtrum length and depth (cupids bow)...etc.

I don’t see the problem in this. Don’t girls say that darker skinned men are more attractive? Then what’s the controversy in the opposite? Now I’m not saying that all lighter skinned women are more attractive than darker skinned women, but in and of itself, lighter skin is a more feminine and desirable attribute. Just like how nice hair, or a straight nice nose is. Oh and bleached skin doesn’t count. Olive/Mediterranean is probably the most attractive skin colour in my opinion.

I disagree sxb but you are entitled to your opinions. Some men might prefer light skin women but that is just their preference. There is no way to determine beauty objectively.

I don’t know where people got the impression from that I said all lighter skinned women are prettier. I clearly said that skin colour is one of the many features that determine a women’s beauty. Meaning if she is lacking in other features, she is still unattractive. It enhances, but doesn’t determine your overall beauty.
