Life as a Muslim in oblock Chicago

Not watched the video, but I see you mentioning some rappers.

Modern rappers affiliating with Islam, whilst not practising it at all, doesn't sit well with me. I see a lot of watering down of the religion in the public sphere. I feel like there are vested interests who are trying to turn Islam into Christianity, in the sense that the adherents pay lip service to the faith, but do whatever they want. Combining fornicating, drinking, music production, gang banging with Islam, is actually insulting.

Look at some of these tv shows, they show people praying and then fornicating in same episode. All these 'Hijabi' models, for example. Is this not some kind of joke?

Muslims should be suspicious about this sudden popularity of Islam in mainstream media, combined with the watering down of the true messages. I see some popular celebrities and athletes, wearing Islamic attire, and even doing pilgrimage, the next minute, they are engaged in open sinning.

Little by little, the face of Islam in the public sphere, is turning into a charade.

Lil D@rk is a rapper, in that demonic industry.

I've seen a lot of these kind of Muslims lately. And I try never to speak on this. But what's disturbing me, is that we can see the image of Islam in the West being watered down.

It reminds me of Christians fornicating all week, and then on Sunday they go to Church.

I’ve noticed this but I doubt it’d actually get to that level I hope not at least…

They tried to make images of the Prophet SAW, but Muslims did not budge. I totally disagree with the violent reactions btw, but still, verbally, we did not agree. So that didn't work. They make fun of Isa (AS) all the time btw.

They figured out, that superficiality works with Muslims. So, they get us via the fashion/style angle. Influx of Hijabi 'models'. Plus, a lot of Muslims seem to want 'company' and 'validation'. That's why they get so hype when someone claims to have converted.

It's deeply suspicous that Islam is suddenly a mainstream 'popular' religion, and we have these rappers, singers and athletes and racists like Tate, openly wearing Islamic images one second, and the next, openly fornicating or being vile.

Wax wayn baa khaldan.

You are really a queen! Even though we’ve argued sometimes you are one of the best posters here

This is inevitable and already happening, it's also a sign of the day of judgment. Muslims being suspicious of new Muslims will not help. The best we can do is to do something. I.e dawah etc Attacking these types of people is counterproductive, these people may be open sinners but their platforms may attract Muslims that would practise their religion better. Attacking anyone who claims to be Muslim will make us make look divisive which is worse.
