There's a difference between tribe and tribalism. You have a right to learn and know your lineage. Hell even in tribal divided Arabia during the prophets time. The prophet saw did not shy away from his lineage, but he preached unity and united the Arab tribes and Muslims of all ethnicites. Your lineage is yours it's your pride maybe, but should not be hindering you from treating others equally in all aspects. There should be a fair access to everything. You shouldn't be destined to have a menial life because you hail from a minority clan and you shouldn't be deserving a certain status just because you're from a majority one. However if we take tribalism away people need a system to lean on. And I think the only way we can be qabayaalad free is with good governance and trustworthy authorities which we are far from.

If you want to know your lineage why not just take a dna test? Most of the time, you might not be the qabil you think you are.

The warrior spirit in our ancestors prevented that outcome thank god, however there are now new enemies that have landed on our shores and if we do not band together then they will defeat us for good. This proxy war could be the end of our home land.

if we truly learn how to judge a man/woman on their character, rather than their clan origins i think we will be fine. i can admit to you one fact, the clans from which we all hail have their share of lions, wolfs, hyenas, monkeys and snakes, the day we can differentiate the monkeys, hyenas, and snakes of of our clan from the lions, and wolfs from other clans we are golden. thats how i am right now, as matter of fact my dearest and closest friends, have always been from other clans, why because i am a wolf i create my own pact i dont follow no herd.

Somalis have been one of the earliest people to convert. If you're going respond with muhhhh secularism muhhhh wahabbis. Still in the end Somalis have believed in Allah for much of our existence. Even if we were pagan before, apart from you alt rights here and elders no average Somali in Somalia knows about waaqism or whatever. Islam and Somali are intertwined, even the non practising Somalis say inshallah, alhamdulilah and assalamu alaykum on a daily basis showing how much our identity and faith are one.You have a right to be irreligious, but here were talking about how to dissolve tribalism back home.. yes back home were everyone attests to this faith. So we had good times and bad times being muslims. And I think Somalia will always stay and be a muslim country.
