Qabilism played an important role in every society since the dawn of mankind. It's no secret that human nature drives man to flock towards his own kind to seek shelter and protection. Some societies have taken it further and seek protection from clans and close relatives from their own extended kin (countrymen). Whether qabilism has its benefits or drawbacks, we all have to admit that it didn't work for Somalis and never will. If the desert dwellers had remained qabilists then they would have never earned the wealth they have today, oil may have saved them 30yrs of pointless savagery and in fighting. Europeans hated each other once and have since then put aside their differences to form a European union that looks out for their best interests. My point being is that this thread is to spread the message that Somalis need to heal and not hate on each other based on qabil or other differences, as the next 50yrs (if we don't get nuked or colonised or raped out of existence) will dictate the future lives of our children and the descendants of the Somali race. We have a chance until the sun rises in the West and sets in the east to get our act together and build Greater Somalia.

Pls do not derail thread and add your opinion on the pros and cons of qabil and maybe on this thread by the time Ramadan comes around we may find a solution for the current problems we face. Walaahi we have to teach our children. They are the only hope, it is to late for millions back home who wish to retain that backwards way of life. I will raise my kids to be ambitious and wise kinda like Nathan Rothschild without the evil intentions. Greed is caused by an underlaying fear of losing something for some it might be resources, others want to maintain the their security and to ensure their childrens future. What most Somalis don't understand is that if we share those resources and love other tribes children as we love our own. We will not have to fear for our children's future as we can trust their brethren north or south to have their backs . Our only concern should have been the outsiders, but instead of fighting together towards superordinate goals and strengthening our ties with extended clans we fought eachother and very easily could have been enslaved like bantus. The warrior spirit in our ancestors prevented that outcome thank god, however there are now new enemies that have landed on our shores and if we do not band together then they will defeat us for good. This proxy war could be the end of our home land.

Somalis emigrated in large numbers in the 90s and there is chain migration effects going on. Basically our snowball got rolled earlier.

Qabyalad can end. With little to no rule of law and chaos in Somalia, qabyalad has become a security blanket and a way to survive. If you want to get rid of qabyalad, give people a sense of security through other means. Reward people based on merit and take care of everybody equally.

It is a very fragile system that doesn’t make any sense because the men who are beneficiaries have foreign passports and families abroad.

I think they are just mini social groups created to protect each other from outsider groups but we are all the same.

Genetically all somalis are related. We are one tribe meaning one family split in to clans - different families.
