@Yonis Btw it is true there was some clan cleansing by the SNM in Awdal in '91 but it wasn't on a large scale. A Prominent Gadabursi Sheikh called Ali Jowhar essentially begged the SNM to stop the massacre since all their militia had fled to Ethiopia out of cowardice as soon as SNM pulled up and they were taken pity on by the Isaaq.

Most of the killings happened in a town called Dilla and the SNM entered Borama within hours it would have been genocide of epic proportions had SNM not taken pity on the Gadabursi. Even the SNM themselves were shocked how fast they took the town of Borama with no resistance.

The SNM commander in charge on the western front at the time was Haybe Omar Jama who is from my sublclan he was the guy who stopped the genocide before it got out of hand. The guy's mum and both his wives are both Gadabursi so that is why he was sympathetic to them. The whole thing lasted less than 24 hours and in that time Gadabursi were forced to kiss the ring and pledge fealty to Isaaq and Somaliland.

SNM were good and noble people. SNM literally saved Isaaq from many things that Siad Barre regime threw at.

We were controlling all the way to Djibouti border while controlling Zeila which was disputed by Issa and Gadabursi but the ones ruling it were Beesha Jibril Abokor.
