Kenyan calls for genocide against the Somalis

Ik most somalis will disagree with me but I believe in the future a special kind of visa or citizenship should be given to professionals from Kenya or Ethiopia to come work here, we have an insane Surgeon and teachers shortage, especially Surgeons and other specilized jobs like that, teachers is fixable if the state manages to raise salaries

Theres too many shady arab doctors working in Xamar and Hargeisa specifically, I rather an honest oromo with an actual degree do the job, even if we start training specialized surgeons today there wont be enough for a good decade
People are def gonna disagree lol but i do think you have a point its better to have trustworthy people we can verify to do their job and know about than some random guy who doesn't know jack. I would prefer we invest a lot more in training our people and enticing diaspora doctors but you're right that's not gonna change for a while.

Doctors arent really a problem tbh, we already got lots of doctor schools that opened recently Ive made a thread on it

But nearly every country struggles with Surgeons, especially in 3rd world countries its a big problem cause the little surgeons they have go chase higher salaries abroad, imagine studying hard for a decade or more to get paid the same as a shoe cleaner, if theres no government to pay nice fat salaries to these surgeons its cooked

Not so funny story about a Hospital in Japan that let a fake Surgeon operate and kill multiple patients cause they couldnt fire him due to a Surgeons shortage in the country

Bisinka yeah we need to start putting an effort into training and recruiting surgeons immediately but if even Japan is having a shortage and struggling I wonder how we will be able to overcome this. The point on doctors is wonderful though

I expect in the future more and more people will travel to China for cheap and reliable healthcare, many Americans already do this

Did you have a bad day ? We can talk about it if you want, you dont have to suffer alone man
Its kind of fascinating seeing a guy who thinks Somalia is still stuck in the 90s. You and I could show him countless videos of Somalis living normal lives in Hargeisa, Borama, Garowe, Mogadishu ect but that would probably fall on deaf ears.

That image people have of Somalia is going to remain as long as FGS is so incompetent, weak and poor and as long as shabaab is still around, if shabaab gets defeated it will open a new page of history for the country

FGS cant defeat shabaab with this current budget but lets say they did, even then without Shabaab the country would become way more prosperous visibly to ignore, when you go on google maps you can visibly see how much poorer the South is compared to the North, except Mogadishu of course

With stability and peace I believe the South has more potential than the north if we being honest, they can make more money from trade with Kenya and EAC countries as well as Ethiopia, they can also make money from Agriculture, but the region is still primitive and theres not that many roads especially south of Afgoye

Agriculture alone could transform the whole place, Hirshabelle has a lot of money to make if it gets freed

Yeah AS is nerfing the south really hard. Farmers are unable to transport their goods a whole lot and international investors stay away. And Ethiopia and Kenya use AS as an excuse to continue parking their troops in areas like Gedo and Jubaland.

Nearly all of Somalia's problems are linked to AS, take them out and the country would transform rapidly within several years.

High IQ society doesn't invest in weapons to mow each other down while their people don't have clean drinking water, or their children lack basic vaccines. Keep coping tho, who am I to get in the way of a good story.
Every country in Africa is home to dozens of distinct ethnic groups and most get along and function fine, but "high IQ" Somalis, despite being practically the same damn people, continue to kill each other and continue to destroy their country.

You are right. A high IQ society invest in productive sectors of the economy

Which is exactly what Somalis do:

A large part of their investment went to clean water supply

This is why Somalia had 80% clean water access in 2020

With 75% of people across most towns and cities(urban9) have access to piped water into their dwellings

It's the same story with health care, only 5.4% of the population is deprived of it

It comes back to what i said before about the word ''cope"
“Coping” is just a term people use when they spend all their time online, living off doom posting and memes.

Try going outside and interacting with real, everyday people. Not everyone lives in outrage bubbles , most can assess things rationally.

You can rant on this thread for days or even weeks with incoherent ramblings , it won’t change the reality on the ground. Somalis are living in peace, cooperating with one another, and making real progress in their regions. The diaspora is returning home to contribute, build, and give back.

If that bothers you, feel free to keep spiraling through your burner accounts. The real low IQ move is believing that shouting insults from behind a keyboard is going to change anything or affect anyone

On the topic of ''AS" i said this in the NTP thread: It is worth reading
Al-Shabaab does not control a third of the country at all. Their presence is limited to a patchwork of rural villages or remote open areas where they hide. They operate more like scattered rural bandits than a governing authority.

Their survival depends on mobility, intimidation, and taxing remote communities, not genuine territorial control. Meanwhile, every major town and populated area in south-central Somalia has remained under federal or regional government control for years.
People often overestimate their strength. I realized this after seeing how many fully equipped, professional private security companies (PSCs) exist across Somalia, funded by local communities and the diaspora. They function like mini armies, effectively protecting their areas.
The fact that Al-Shabaab cannot capture or hold cities is proof that Somali PSCs, federal forces, and local defense groups are stronger than outsiders think. At this point, they’re more of a chronic security nuisance than an existential threat.
Al-Shabaab survives as a fluid insurgency rather than a governing power, which shows the system works they’re stuck in survival mode, not expansion. And despite their presence, production and development have expanded across regions. For example, crop processing companies operate in Jubba, Middle Shabelle, and Lower Shabelle, exporting produce from local farmlands. Various major companies have branch offices in various towns across the south. On the ground there is a lot economic growth that has happened that people don't realize because political coverage and bickering dominate the headlines and social media posts.

What i said was pretty much echoed in the SOMINVEST by local companies:

Al-Shabaab is a complete nuisance and the main contributor to Somalia’s continued ''conflict'' image. It’s not just because the FGS is incompetent or lacks resources (though that’s definitely part of it), it’s mainly because Al-Shabaab operates as a fluid insurgency, basically a loosely organized militia. Their unconventional tactics give them an edge and make them really hard to wipe out.

I remember one analyst saying that it’s actually thanks to private security firms, defense groups, and the SNA that Al-Shabaab is mostly contained in the southern part of Somalia and that the North should be thankful for that. But that also shows you something else: they clearly don’t have the capacity to expand and take over areas , they just move around in remote areas.

They avoid full-scale confrontations with Somali or international forces and often melt into remote communities when under pressure. Banditry and asymmetric tactics are far more central to how they operate.
