Kenya refuses to recognise ICJ ruling prior to verdict next week.

Jeopardise a relationship with a paper state aid dependant Somalia? Stop thinking Somalia sovereignty and territorial claim will remain indefinitely as if you are CCP :mjlol:

Why you're running 30 years chasing illusive recognition when Somalia is a weak state made of paper?

Exactly.

Why you're mad though when Somalia wins the case you'll get a cut of Jubaland's oil revenues.

That first paycheck will shatter any independence aspirations from Landers they'll bel like "ok I'm part of Somalia now, can I get more"

:russ:
Lol What paycheck? that is ogaden water i guerentee you if they drill oil 90% of the money will go to this niggas pocket. aint nobody getting a cut including your state:mjlaugh:

The oil should go 90% to the state that the oil is located in and 10% to the FGS

No I believe this is the most equatable arrangement. 10 - 20% spent on non oil producing states the district receiving the same amount.

The FGS and the FMS will receive most of the oil revenues which is fair. I mean FGS is the central government your top boss and Federal Member State Is where the oil comes from.

FGS & Jubaland influence will shoot up significantly if oil production goes into top gear.

Nigga lets be honnest all of that will go to the locals pocket :mjdontkno: aint no sharing in somalia what makes you think jubaland will give majority of their oil shares to SFG. these niggas dont even pay basic taxes to the SFG:mjhaps:

Because they're a federal member state and SFG will take part in negotiations with oil companies on behalf of Jubaland.

Why are you so dense you honestly believe a regional state is capable of pulling off an international multi billion dollars investment deal?

@mr steal your naag

this is from wikileaks-- leaked CIA documents which shows that madoobe came to kismaayo on the backs of kenyan tanks. he never had the might to do it alone and if kenya leaves today he does not have the might to stay even 2 hours.

In southern Somalia, the leader of the Raas Kaambooni Brigade, fighting
alongside TFG forces and the Kenyan military, said the areas freed from
Al-Shabab control urgently require food aid and medicine.

Mr Ahmed Mohammed Islan told the Nation the conditions are now safe for
international aid agencies.

Mr Islan, also known Madoobe, said the entry of the Kenya Defence Forces
on the scene led to the routing of the Al-Shabab, which had taken over
the strategic town by the sea.

The Kenyan troops are on the third week of Operation Linda Nchi in
Somalia aimed against the extremist militia blamed for insecurity across
the Horn of Africa.

The ultimate plan is to capture the two Al-Shabab strongholds of Afmadow
and Kismaayo and allow TFG to take control.

Please, no. Let's not tribalize our national resources. The FGS will oversee extraction and evenly distribute the resources depending on its national development priorities.

My only concern is seceding too much to oil companies like 80 : 20 in their favor that is a very shady deal but Somali politicians have a track record of corruption and accepting briberies for shit deals.

there is falsehood in Somalia right now, clans who in the 90s during the height of clan wars where nothing but civilians with zero power have all of sudden came through the ranks. not because of numbers or power but because they are being used or are offering to do the bidding of outsiders.

the number one clan being used is ogaden. without amisom they are a 0.5 inside somalia. which is why amisom needs to go. the moment amisom leaves or kenya is kicked out natural order will take place in kismaayo.

Since there laying the infrastructure and means of getting the gas/oil out, they’ll take the lions share of it until Somalia can have enough capital to do it themselves.

Saudi Arabia before Aramco had similar oil deal which they only took 10-20% of total revenue.

The only way Somalia can develop is with a comprehensive plan shepherded by a powerful central government. One that can marshal all available resources and direct industrial policy on a national scale. This is how the East Asian Tigers did it and that is how we will do it. It almost certainly will not happen under this atomistic "every man for himself" plan, which will see most funding go to a few geographically "lucky" areas.

Madobe has sat in Kismaayo since 2013 collecting rents to the tune of $13.2 million a year. What does he have to show for it? We cannot allow the future of the Somali nation to be stolen by this witless robber baron who can scarcely administer a single city.

I think that's almost inevitable to be honest. I just hope the government invests in homegrown oil companies that extract oil without the need of foreign assistance.

Come on bro they are not 0.5 :comeon: I know inside somalia they are not in large numbers but still they are not a minority. So what are you saying as soon when amisom leaves another civil war will break out in jubaland?

Agree with this part. We all have legitimate grievances on Siad Barre neglecting all other regions and focusing development in Mogadishu this in comparison is a very equitable revenue sharing agreement, no one is left behind.

That said I honestly don't have faith in Somali politicians. They'll sell us short like Shiekh Sharif & Khayere.

they are a 0.5 inside somalia, there won't be a civil war because Kismaayo is majority MX city. in fact there will be a massive celebration inside kismaayo when kenya is kicked out. trust me ogadeen know what will happen to the them the moment kenya is kicked out which is why a lot have left and more are leaving.

they only live in afmadow district that's all. and no one cares about afmadow it is not an important town.
