Kenya allocates 5.5 billion in yearly defense spending to the KDF fighter jets, attack helicopters, tanks, advanced heavy artillery they have it all why would they be scared of skinny Somalians armed with only dusty AK47's from the Iranian black market kkkk

All that but no heart no confidence massive incompetence in their military they’re petrified of asymmetrical Al Shabab guerillas imagine an actual standing army of united Somalis like we used to have they’ve always feared that and always will that’s the point

War is more about military equipment. What equipment can have impact on war but if you like soldiers that ideology committed, discipline and have army based on merit.

Right now, KDF has respectable arsenal by African standards but it's army lack ideology, discipline and merit. Take for example, the KDF mission in Somalia was to defeat Al-Shabaab and pacify southern regions of Somalia to send Somali refugees in Kenya back to Somalia. Instead, KDF have establish lucrative cattle business were commands are making buck. Secondly, due to Kenya authoritarian government during early years of decolonisation. This meant KDF is position in given by tribal loyalty then merit. This essently create a weak army.

Take for example, during the Ogaden war. Somalia rapidly advance into Ethiopia caperturing 90% of Ogaden. This was due to fact Ethiopia. Army was position were given based on loyalty not merit. Even tho Ethiopians had superior military equipment, they lack more ideological reason to defend a mainly ethnic Somali enclave which is disconnected from main stream Ethiopia.

Compared that too SNA back then. Somali, we were ideological driven by the idea of unified Somalia, which unifying element that went against clanism. SNA back then gave position based on merit. Hence, why Ethiopia had to call Soviet Union for support because army was superior to Somali terms of equipment but lack moral or skilled leaders to do anything.

Right now, the fact thaa FGS is trying to rebuild SNA by standing above clan lines and give positions based on merit is good starting of point. Personally, I think making Danab units the main standard units in SNA, make Somalia militarily strong country again.

That's an oxymoron:stopit:

True but this proves a real army CAN be built in Somalia if we can get a proper government the US provides the funding and top class training and morale is sky high with these soldiers it’s a shame we can’t replicate this on our own

somalia is like a penis that gets a boner but the owner (Somali people/government) slaps his own penis to make sure it doesn't get hard and still expects it to work during jigjigi time,
