Look at India they have a large population and most of them are in poverty. China literally had to eat rats and bats during their famine because there wasn't enough to feed them. A big population means jack shit if they're no resources to go around.

Other Kenyans are having fewer kids. That way they can raise their 2 or 3 kids with good education, affordable living standards, and a bright future.

To the Somalis, having more kids that they can't afford means less education, a high mortality rate, and instability in the long run. Family planning is highly encouraged in Islam. It is high time that Somali Kenyans employ it.

High fertility rates doesn't cause underdevelopment it's a result of it
Most of Somalia is agrarian/pastoralist where having a lot of kids is beneficial to their lifestyle. Once somalia starts industrializing this will eventually go away

In Somalia, the first thing we need is a stability and a good governance. Without those 2 in place, we really can't plan for anything else. And adding 7 or more kids to the already dire situation many families are in, that means more despair, instability, extremist groups taking advantage of the unemployed youth, more tribal wars since many unemployed youth resort to robbery, theft, and other forms of vice. We truly need to put our priorities in order.

For Somali Kenyans, politically speaking, they have a stable country. They have slowly made out of the marginalization they faced in the past as a result of the Shifta war and their struggle to join with their Somali brethren in the Somali Republic. Now that they have joined the rest of the Kenyan mainstream, they need to focus on developments in their regions. That means any population boom in North Eastern Kenya should correspond to the developments in their regions.

That being said, one thing I've noticed on Somali Kenyans, every official, rich and well-to-do man and woman, are all building their mansions in Nairobi. They don't really invest in their cities in NFD. That means the governors, district commissioners, and well-off Somali Kenyans have their families in Nairobi instead of Garissa, Wajir, Mandhera, Sciolo, Lamu, and the rest of towns in NFD. So how can you expect developments in these Somali-inhabited regions if the officials from there are not living there.

In 1984 all countries in Africa had a gdp per capita higher than china, but in 2023 china has a gdp per capita higher than all african countries. This is mainly due to their family planning and 5 year plans. African countries on the other hand are are no better than India.

Somalis living in these regions have actually voted and overall make it clear to join Somalia. Unfortunately the white man decided otherwise.


In Kenya 2019 (census), somalis were roughly 6% of the population of almost 51 million. In Kenya, politics and economics alike are intertwined and bigger ethnic groups feast while smaller ones get scraps (indians and whites being an exception). Somalis having a bigger pop means more votes and combined with our economic might we might dominate the country soon, overtaking cadaans and the hindis.

In Ethiopia, somalis also make 8-10% of the population. The tigrays too, but what happened to them? Wiped out even though 1st having the better weapons. Imagine if they 2x the pop they had. More fighting men etc.


The world aint a pretty place, you need men and women.

There appears to be a gap in fertility opening up between Garissa and Wajir/Mandera. Increased urbanization in Garissa seems to have reduced fertility. Garissa now has a TFR similar to that of Awdal. A gap in TFR of 2.4 children per woman between Mandera and Garissa is huge.

A smaller educated population is much more valuable than a large uneducated population. You should be concerned about lifting somalis out of poverty first before worrying demographics

Already in 2019, Somalis were 15% of the under 15 population in Kenya.
Somalis will become the largest ethnic group in Kenya within our lifetimes.
The Kikuyu are currently only 17%,. It is a country without a majority or even a solid plurality.

Yeah but they sent the excess youth abroad to fight in wars of conquest, plunder and empire building. This also calmed the domestic situation as well because the masses of unemployed men wouldn't start or cause trouble at home as they settled or died abroad. Somalia is just sending boats full of desperate young men to Europe (tahriib)so they can work as fruit pickers, taxi drivers and delivery men....and that's if they even make it these days the Europeans are sinking boats on purpose and deporting illegal immigrants.

People forget how close Non-Whites were to the fate of the Native Americans, this map below was in 1916, France had more people than Nigeria+Egypt+Sudan+Ethiopia+Somalia put together when my grandfather was a teen. It is not ancient history at all. They could have easily created 4-5 more Rhodesia's.

People who don’t know historical demography don’t understand why balkans was far more important for Ottomans than Middle East. Romania used to have more people than Egypt, Bulgaria had more then Iraq. Today 2.2m births Egypt vs 160k Romania. 1.3m Iraq vs 60k Bulgaria. We need to keep it that way.

With the coming possibilities of water shortages due to climate change, rising fears of somali pop in Kenya, clusterfuck known as Ethiopia, Somalia will need all the youth and more. Only small percentage do tahriib and now it has stalled due to less asylums given. Even if no war happens, having a youthful population means more innovation, more necessity to build etc.
