Just saying this as a Turkish person

I just made an account to post this. I’ve seen a couple of Somalis in Turkey lately, and honestly, it made me really happy to see new faces. at first i thought they were indians. It’s not that common to see foreigners here, but whenever I do—whether it’s Europeans, Asians, or Africans—I always try to say hi. I find it really cool and interesting. i also have a question what do somalis think of turkey?
Much love and respect to you all from turkey. Hope you’re enjoying Turkey. Have a great day!

Hi, welcome to the forum. Other than your government interfering with Somalia which I'm totally against I have nothing bad to say about Turkey since it's a muslim nation with rich history culture and food. Ps I'm a huge fan of Turksih food.

Yes, I understand your concern. The truth is, many minorities here feel the same. Turkey has been doing some questionable things lately, and minorities feel like their rights are being taken away. This isn’t just about Erdoğan versus the opposition — this kind of behavior can be seen across political parties, and it’s honestly scary to witness. InshaAllah, we’ll have a more peaceful future, without interference in other countries or extremism within our own.

Yes Inshallah I believe this is all temporary and both Somalia and Turkey and even other muslim nations will rise from this political mayhem. I'm very optimistic.

I like turks, One of the few people who helped Somalis in the worst times I hope the relationship between us is prosperous and beneficial. However I do have a question to you; Turkey is governed in secular manner while the majority is muslim, how is that do you have family members how are atheist or is the country more polarized ? Because i've seen some nasty islamophobia from turks online. And lastly what's your thoughts on Ataturk ?

The best way I can describe the situation in Turkey, in terms of religion, is like this: imagine you have a brother who is a Muslim and a sister who is an atheist. They came from the same womb but hold different beliefs and values.

Who cares about turkey

Not even here to defend Turkey or say I care for it . But if you don’t care for the country why comment on this thread in the first place .

It’s quite common nowadays to see comments about how people are tired of a certain topic or have a certain disinterest towards something but are some of the first to be active on those threads .
