This all started because she wants to separate mtf trans rights from feminism, which is valid. She was then called a TERF and was the subject of huge backlash because people believed her opinion on excluding trans women from "feminism" was discriminatory and anti-trans. I think that a lot of what she has said since has been a result of her anger at being mislabelled as transphobic.

I'd go so far as to say she's a bit of a radical feminist, so I guess the TERF label is quite accurate. People use that term to indicate that separating trans women from feminism is inherently transphobic but that isn't right. When you then attack someone for having that opinion, I can see why Rowling feels so aggrieved
