It's less about the relative "success" of the rockets, each iron dome interceptor missile is $50k USD whereas Hamas's rockets are a few hundred $ max. This is a war of attrition designed to slowly bleed Israel out, similar to strategies adopted by insurgents in Iraq/Afghanistan where they continuously targeted million dollar American MRAPs with $10 IEDs and ended up costing the US 6.4 trillion in total.

yup, it's not sustainable if it were a protracted, longer conflict. say, a major war were to break out, with a formidable foe, the iron dome would not be able to last long.

These are not ballistic missiles. Intercepting these kinds of velocities is fairly trivial. Hamas is firing modified rocket artillery.

Taking down locally produced Hamas bottle rockets isn't exactly a massive achievement. Iran alone could pull off a MAD and turn that place into a glass strip with its missiles stock after getting nuked.

It's highly effective against the cheap home made missiles fired from Gaza, but it would be ineffective if not useless against a modern military. It has a maximum capacity which if exceeded would render it useless, which is what happened yesterday. If homemade projectiles propelled by dissolved sugar can penetrate it so can a military with a sophisticated modern arsenal.
