BREAKING NEWS Israel attacks Iranian nuclear sites

Somalia has made remarkable economic progress between 2015–2025, 99% of it driven internally, with no help from Saudi Arabia or the Gulf.

It now has one of the lowest crime rates in Africa and functions as a regional trade hub with seamless goods movement. It’s also a pioneer in fintech, telecom, and energy innovation.

Corruption, violence, and poverty are mostly localized, tied to IDPs, Al-Shabaab, and the FGS. Outside of that, local and regional governments are functional and deliver services, while the private sector is thriving and actively drives development.

The lack of large foreign investment isn’t a failure. It’s largely due to security concerns (AS/ISIS). But our diaspora plays the role of investors, injecting foreign capital and stabilizing the economy. Unlike others, Somalia isn’t saddled with external debt or controlled by multinationals.

In contrast, Gulf countries have squandered oil wealth on vanity projects, remain dependent on Western (often white/Jewish) demand, and rely on foreign labor for innovation and entrepreneurship. Human capital investment is minimal.

Honestly, I’d give more credit to Iran. Despite sanctions, they’ve built a diverse, science- and tech driven economy. Iran and Somalia have shown far more resilience than the Gulf states, whose economies are fragile beneath the surface.

And Israel? Far less impressive than its media image. It's propped up by constant U.S. support and functions as an extension of Europe and America. It’s spoon-fed aid, weapons, and trade access. That’s not self-made strength.

And @MVPSOM is right, Iran has never worked to politically destabilize Somalia. Israel, Saudi, and the Gulf have.

This is not to excuse everything about Iran. I’m not pro-Iran. But if we're being honest, their behavior toward Somalia has been far less harmful than the so-called allies who claim to support the Muslim world while actively undermining it.
Genuine question but how has Saudi worked to destabilise Somalia? UAE without a doubt, but Saudi has been quite supportive to my knowledge

This is the Saudis on Ogaden:

It's 1978, during the Ogaden War and Eritrean Muslim resistance. This is what the Saudi Foreign Minister said:

"We do not care about Ogaden... If Ethiopia could become moderate, we would support her immediately. We would forget about Eritrea"

''We do not care who had Ogaden, we only wanted Mengistu Defeated"

Now compare that to Israel’s mentality.

This is Israel’s stance when it came to supporting Ethiopia, straight from the Israeli Defense Minister:

“For years we’ve cooperated with Ethiopia, never with Somalia. So when they were interested [in Israeli arms] and were being attacked, they asked us for help and we granted it to them.”

These two texts are straight from Isreali government archives:

"in dealing with Somalis and (and Eritreans rebels) first and worry about Soviets and cuban l later: '' in now wise can Isreal ignore Arab victories , no matter how remotely connected or how far away. Any Arab success, no matter how small is much greater threat to the Isrealis than the Soviet presence on the Horn."

So just imagine politically siding with either of these countries, as @Dino here is doing. Israel has played a key role in destabilizing Somalia and gave Ethiopia full backing based on a Judeo-Christian ideological alliance. Saudis, on the other hand, completely sold out the Muslim world.

Meanwhile, look at who really supported us:

Imagine that a pro-Western, pre-revolution Iran was more ready to defend Somalia than Saudi Arabia. That alone should tell you everything.
Saudi royal family has always sold out the Islamic world like in the Arab revolt when they sided with the British empire over Muslim Turks or when they under jimmy carters orders gave saddam the green light to attack Iran in 1980

The Iranian regime is controlled opposition they had contacts with the us as far back as

They both are similar and see Somalia as some geo-political pawn they can manuever around and have been involved in actively trying to destabilize it.

The investments or donation they try to push is mostly influence purchasing campaign.

But you are somewhat right in the sense that UAE and Qatar more aggressive with it

Iranian FM Araghchi to Ambassadors in Tehran: "We have received messages from the US in the past few days stating that they were not involved in this attack. But we do not accept this claim because our evidence shows the opposite. We call on the US to adopt an official, public and transparent position and condemn the attack on nuclear facilities. Informal messages are not enough."
