Even the majority of modern Somali culture is Semitic in origin.

It's Bantu. It's not a Cushitic origin dance.

It's so obvious. None of the Northern Cushites (Beja, Agaw, Afars etc - even Northern Somalis up to modern times) practice it. Only Southern Somalis who came in cultural contact with Swahili populations.

It's Bantu, mayne, just accept it. No Cushite could have thought of that.

It's not hard to think of moving your ass, even North Africans do this.

Bantus showed them > South Somalis thought it was funny > it became a thing.

Somalis wear macawiis, but it's from all the way from Indonesia.

Cultural appropriation of the macawiis: Indonesia > India > Yemen/South Arabia > Somalia

Because they coped the Bantus lol.

It makes sense Bantu slaves never reached Somaliland/Puntland which is why it is not practiced there.

    That's probably true.
Indonesians also wearing Macawiis doesn't mean Somalis got it from them. They wear different materials.
