What do you consider music singing yes that's allowed but instruments and rhythm is not which makes it kind of redundant I guess.

Most, if not all schools of thought say it’s haram.

It is definitely hard to not listen to it, especially if you grew up in the west.

My advice is to seek Allah’s help in giving it up. I promise you that if you give it up for his sake, you’ll be rewarded for it iA. Its sooo hard though, I completely get it.
