Is it okay for Somalis to have dreadlocks?

Been digging them lately and have been wondering if I should get them

My mom has braided my hair before so she's okay with Braids but IDK about dreads because it's usually seen as "dirty" and what not

If it helps, I do have the hardest hair in my family at around 4A

If anyone does have dreads in this forum, let me know how you clean them.

Also show me examples of Somalis with dreadlocks

since you live in the west and it’s normalized islamically i believe it’s halal.
