Is djibouti a sign that there is hope for Somalis/somalia? 🤔

Fake history SNM begged ciise to help them fight Siad barre and later we ended up fighting. SNM never beat us we killed 200 of your soilders in toqoshi in one battle. 😂 Landers had to begg Djibouti to tell ciises in saylac to stop and they didn't until 1995.
Typical Somali response

- Your soldiers tried to advance to Zeila
- They failed and ended up back on their side of the border

But "we killed 200 of your soldiers" though

i literally think they did great for not having resources and using their port to generate wealth, you do realise that djibouti is a very small land with a small population

Djibouti isn’t anything to rave about. Around 50 yrs of independence and that’s what they have to show for it. They have worse slums than Xamar which is war torn and is boring compared to most Somali cities. I’ll be more entertained in Hargeisa or Xamar. I’ve been there and I was confused as to the lack of things to do and how ridiculously expensive it is. They do have beautiful luxury hotels and that’s a testament to their stability.

Btw, this isn’t me hating since Reer Djiboutis are my fav Somalis. I wish them nothing but prosperity. They’re the ‘ilbaax’ of the Somalis. They mind their business, aren’t overly qabilist and live in peace.

Politics wise helping djibouti wouldnt help the somali case. After all they are its own country and a good somalia would be their downfall. Plus we need to help ourselves tbh. Why build in another mans land? Invest in your own!
How so? Granted idk much about djibouti besides the ports and military bases there. I thought politically we were allies

The only thing Djibouti needs is to open up for Somali investments imagine all the money in Nairobi the billions going to Djibouti instead.
That’s just irrational for Somali investors. The two are not even comparable. Investors think in terms of market size, scalability, and access to finance/tech. Nairobi city of 5+ million people inside a country of 55+ million is naturally going to offer more opportunities than a microstate tyrannical regime of 1 million. Not to mention, Djibouti is not safe for investors, as their financial flows are open to be monitored, restricted, or even seized if they fall out of favor with the regime.

Overall, it’s unjustifiable.

Go back to my last comment I listed some of Djibouti's achievements.

Somalis insulting Djibouti is a coping mechanism for their own failures and instability. Our government has supported Somalia for 34 years trying to stabilize your country. Djibouti has also achieved great success in the renewable energy sector with solar, wind, geothermal plants, and desalination plants. Not to forget, we sent two satellites to space for environmental research and were building a spaceport that we will own after 2 years of opening.
