These specific riots are not discriminatory, there are victims and looting across all communities incl the indigenous Sth Africans. Shopping malls, office buildings and supermarkets have been targeted indiscriminately. People have been hurt that are Sth African Black, Somali, White, Hindi, you name it.

These riots are primarily occurring in only one city: Durban, which is known to have a high Indian population as well as being home to jailed ex-president Jacob Zuma, which is the reason for the riots.

As for speaking out, here is the Zulu king (whose jurisdiction includes Durban) appealing for the violence to stop:
