If Arabic was seen as sufficient, then there wouldn't have been a reason to create other scripts. Both latin and osmanya are horrible for af somali, historically weve written in arabic and spoken it

It was easier and cheaper to implement. This is why it was chosen.Latin is the least practical script lmao, somalis wanted arabic as a script since the italians
You might actually be retardedIf Arabic was seen as sufficient, then there wouldn't have been a reason to create other scripts.

Reading wise Arabic is more complementary, for two reasons that I know of one is the Arabic words are similar so less guess work and if your familiar with the words Arabic vowels are more comprehensive so less letters need = more beautifulThe Arabic script had it's problems, I don't know why you deny it. It's inadequacy drove others to develop new scripts.

other languages use the arabic but like a full blown alphabet. they use modified arabic letters. uyghurs use it like that. so do kazakhs in china/xinjiang/east turkestan. If the Japanese can use Chinese characters (Kanji) alongside two other native scripts , Katakana and Hiragana and still incorporate Romaji (Latin script) for modern uses, then Somalis can do the same.

It's less so about bias and more about the fact that the Arabic script was seen as unsuitable to encompass all the sounds in the Somali language.
The con with adopting the arabic alphabet is that arabic has three letters that represent long vowels and three diacritic marks which represent three short vowels. In Somali on the other hand there is five short wovels and five long vowels
It doesn't matter what script Somalis use, as long as you make the adjustments to it.
I just explained it, the current script doesn't .
Actually the same problem applied to Farsi and Urdu , many people felt that the Arabic script was unsuitable for one reason or another, like what you mention about the consonants. But they created modifications like extra letters and subscript dots etc to correct these issues.
Osmanya is deeply flawed and its worse than latin imo, this push for a new somali made script makes no sense wannabe geezIf the Japanese can use Chinese characters (Kanji) alongside two other native scripts , Katakana and Hiragana and still incorporate Romaji (Latin script) for modern uses, then Somalis can do the same.
We can embrace Wadaad and Osmaniya, revive cultural symbols like Sumaad as a form of logography, and still use Latin script for digital platforms, pronunciation aids, and international-facing signage or documentation.
The Arabic script and Osmaniya are both part of our national heritage, and there's no reason we can't preserve and promote them alongside practical tools like the Latin script.
Each writing system can have it's own role and function. But this would require national standardization.
