Nobody is saying to get rid of either parent, actually, 60-70% of divorces are started from the mother, and she gets rid of the father in the childs relationship with him.

If both are competent then joint custody with some deference to the hooyo. If the aabo is incompetent then full custody to hooyo and the court should decide whether he deserves more custody or visits depending on how much more competent he gets, and the reverse goes if hooyo is incompetent. Ideally folks wouldn't get divorced but yeah, there it is.

I know kids raised by (good) single dads and they have that extreme longing for a maternal figure. I can only imagine how much I would hate my dad if he separated me from my mom and vice versa
