in London there's slightly more somalis or maybe we just stick out like sore thumb and are a loud minority both real life and online, Latinos are like chameleons and blend in with anyone you might think they're either Romanians, mixed race, Arabs, etc .. Whereas somalis have a very distinctive look, which I hate.

Why hate we are distinct? Somalis are known in London. I've never been called black by other people. Anyone that looks at me knows I am somali and where I'm from so that's cool.

I don't like that we are distinct because that means people will treat us differently and usually not in a good way, I feel like I experienced it not to mention being easy pawn for far right wings and more hate crimes as people can easily spot us.

Somalis are a tiny minority compared to Latinos. Latinos are literally an amalgamation of many different countries. We are dealing with an entire continent here . Obviously in London most Somalis live together in places like West London and Northwest London as well as some pockets of North London and East so when you live in these places it feels like they are a majority but in all honesty Somalis are tiny in comparison to the Latinos. I would say for each one Somali you have 15-20 Hispanic/ Portuguese speaking people in London.

I do agree that we stand out more while Latinos can look white, Arab or mixed race and therefore easily blend in. Their culture is also a bit more aligned with the Europeans and therefore go unnoticed.

I'm talking about actual hate crime like in real life. I have been seeing way too many somali hate campaigns by the media which is in my opinion is dangerous to us as we can be easily spotted hence people attacking us more it happens.

You are right we are situated in certain areas there's even not many of us throughout South London and most of East London but if you spot a few you would think we are a majority simply because of the way we look and dress.

Absolutely! In places like Hayes, Harlesden, Edmonton etc you would think us Somalis are large but in all honesty we are a very tiny group.
