Before you know it, the government will fine you for leaving your area. Then the authorities will arrest you for being 30 minutes away from home visiting your favourite cafe. Crap like this is done gradually. We saw all the conspiracy theories during the pandemic come true despite warnings being met with laughter. Hard pass.

Why on earth would you be fined for leaving your area? It doesn't make economic sense to corrale people into Hunger Games type Districts.

15 minute city's endgoal is to manufacture consent for future government control of your movement and autonomy. Change is most effective and is most accepted when done incrementally in degrees.

Why wouldn't these be feasible in major cities? Only 21% of the Dutch live in flats and they're the primary example I'm drawing from.

I'm really baffled at some people's opposition to having cafes, cornerstores, salons, child-care centres, gyms and cinemas close at hand. I personally love the idea.

Forming research groups for urban planning, design philosophy, architecture, and form is essential for developing countries, factoring cost-effective constructions with materials, longevity, taste, and quality. The results will and should go in diverse ways, drawing inspiration from the contextual matters of land, culture, history, etc., instead of dragging direct copies of other places. Room for variation exists as well.
