They were barbaric, at least to our standards. It would be more interesting if I would be thrown via time portal to 1400 Somalia with what I know now, I'd have established the first centralized Somali state through fire arms. But first you would have to have a Tol and to get that you need to be accepted by a clan. And Somalis at that time were xenophobes suspicious of outsiders, Somalis or not, and if you were a Somali, prepare to have a proper Abtirsi. So that would a tough mission.
