Can’t confirm whether the commander of the Dervish regiment was HY but a quick search of that gabay shows some of the context as a battle between the Dervish State on one side and both the Warsangali and Majeerteen sultanates on the other
It is plausible the commander could’ve been HY as half of the latter sub clan (the HY who were under Suldaan Nuur) were allies with the Dervish for a time
But I can’t confirm if the commander was HY, my apologies my dear friend after all I am not an expert on all matters germane to the Dervish State, I merely posses a minuscule grasp of their expansive sui generis history
