Wallahi, it's trippy to think that if our ancestors and the ancestors of the Xabashis were just somewhat weaker and managed to be overrun by them that would have been true. But, to be honest, I think it was more than just Somali zeal keeping them at bay. Oromo pastoralists were a little different from Somali pastoralists back then. More the cattle herding, semi-nomadic kind who lived in huts rather than tents, if I'm not mistaken. They wouldn't have been as capable or successful in the more arid parts of our lands like the north when faced with camel herding Somalis used to living in tents and desert life.
