I don’t believe in qabiils

Yes I don’t believe in qabiil. I think qabiil is a tactic that europ*an colonisers used to divide us by. It’s just hard to believe in qabiil if there isn’t any written Somali source before the 1800s backing it up. We Somalis were the first Africans to sail all the way to china and we even made dictionary that translated the Chinese language to Somali. It’s just hard to believe we did all that but somehow forgot to document our extremely important forefathers that still till today have extreme influence over us. It’s just also hard to believe that we descent from 7 brothers doesn’t that make us at end not products of incest? Europe*ns were known to destroy important cultural sites in the countries where they arrived. I once read about a Itali*n general giuseppe ferlini who literally destroyed almost all of the Nubian pyramids. Europeans used to tell native South Americans that they never had a civilisation before their arrival prior the rediscovery of several South American civilisations that they genocided into extinction. It’s not too far fetched that they could have done the same to us. Burning our libraries and mosques were most of our lineage and history were preserved and then telling us lies that only ever will benefit them. Now our country is divided into qabiils that think that their different races from eachother. If you’re still not convinced look at all those NEW subclans forming NOW in a couple of decades future Somali children will think that those subclans had existed for forever and they will make up a fictional forefather to back it up.

Anyways we shall leave qabiil and qabyalad in the past it has never benefitted us anyway. I know some ppl were harmed by it, I know some ppl are hurt but believing into the same system that cause your suffering is not going to liberate you. Its like a poor person defending a billionaire and hyper capitalism in the hope of becoming a future billionaire ,the chance is minimal. In other words this qabiil system is not going to benefit the average Somali at all.

I do agree somewhat but I don't believe that Qabils completely didn't exist. I have seen historical references to different Qabils predating colonialism. I do think some element of colonialism has corrupted Qabilism to us today and caused our issues. The europeans were famous for divide and conquer

Tribal confederations are common amongst nomadic groups both in Africa and Arabia. The question of if we actually descend from those men is up for debate but the implementation of a tribal system within Somalis dates back at least 1000 years

I don’t think qabiils existed but something like city-states could be possibly. Almost ever country had city-states until quiet recently.

Qabiil =/= tribe. Somalis are one tribe and homogenous too.

Nah futuh al habash mentions somalis by clans

There are somali written documents from before colonialism, in wadaad script. Many artefacts were lost during the war or are held by private collectors

qabiil is just acknowledging your family history. Qabyaalad is the problem. The only way to move away from it is to start a Somali nationalist movement and raise the people from poverty
