He did contest the last presidential election four years ago and he served as an MP and/or minister at the federal level. Good luck to him but if he actually does become President of Somalia he should relocate Villa Somalia to Bosaso. Yep, everyone wants that big seat in Xamar. He will contest in 2024 again properly, he did afterall spend 30-100k on the election.
We want President Deni continue his great work Building PL army. We have big fish to catch in Sool after we finish Bari Sanaag.
PL trajectory so far has been the other way. They use SFG as training ground in politics like gaas-deni did and then 'run for puntland office', it's not the old days when puntland was the training ground for leaders to go to 'hamar' like abdillahi yusuf.
Cade Muse didn't bother, Farole didn't either as they came str8 from canada and australia to puntland and gaas-deni are showing they go to hamar first to develop experience and then relocate to puntland with experience. I think even 'asad diyano' is attempting to do that. I bet u the next president of puntland will be that 'foreign minister' since it's issa mahmoud rotation.

I am just saying the trajectory has been so far to go to Hamar and get political experience and then run for Puntland presidency, where-as before it was get political experience in the regions and use that as a stepping stone into hamar politics showing 'experience and track record'.
I am not sure if 'gaas' is running as you get 'pension' for life after you serve in Puntland presidency/Vice president
