It's because most of the horn is like this now because of the eteffects of ethnic federalism.
People in Ethiopia didn't side with people because of simply ethnic groups but by region.
So like an oromo and amhara in one village will feel closer to each other than to their ethnic counterparts in other regions.
But now east Africa is all about the war between ethnicities so everyone is starting to disassociate themselves from their regional identity for a greater ethnic one.

The best thing we somalis can do is to get rid of this clan nonsense and build up our nation because so far it seems other ethnic groups are way more united than us even though we are the most homogenous group in Africa
