Harari* people are predominantly habesha and identify as “Muslim habesha/Ethiopian” they do not largely identify with Oromo or Somalis nowadays. As for marriage, I advise hararghe oromos as it will not differ much besides slightly different looks and language. My mom is hararghe Oromo and my dad is sheekhash Somali, and I don’t really seem to differ much from the everyday Somali kid around me in terms of dhaqaan

Oromos don’t believe in “purity”, Somalis do. It’s more likely people would turn into oromos then to be integrated into the qabil structure lol
Majority of Eastern Oromos are Somalis and Harir's who don't know think they are Oromo. You can tell by their face.

Not true most are Oromo and hararghe in particular are usually of partial Somali and harari origin (like my mom), some “Somalis” in the galbeed may have partial Oromo and harari ancestry as well
Someone needs to take DNA samples of many Oromos in that area, I might be being bias but many of them look 1:1 Somali. Same cannot be said when you look at other regions in Oromia

Yeah through history you see our people conquering land in different ways.
Oromo would conquer land and assimilate the people there and make them oromo.
The Somalis would just kill the natives and settle pure blooded somalis on the conquered landa.

I've encountered with Oromos and adjacent ethnic groups all over eastern Ethiopia, in particular Hararghe and surrounding areas to know them in and out, kkk
Even though you're right that we Somalis believe in 'purity', we usually have no problem with Oromos who assimilate into Somalis, or any other ethnic groups for that matter. Especially if it happens over a longer period time. The only 'point of contention' is incorporating them into Somali qabiils
