I need help.

Be honest with yourself and just do what needs to be done. Your time here on earth is limited make good use of it. I also don't have a television in my home.

Thank you so much everyone for the suggestions.

My room is set up in a way that is very conducive for studying. My biggest problem now is whenever I take a 20 mins break it turns out to be a 4 hrs break.

I gotta work on my self-discipline fr

I'm having a hard time studying from home. I donno how but 24hrs flies by quickly and it is affecting my grades. Those of you who work or study from home, how do you manage your time?

Do you guys have a daily routine you follow?
Improve your concentration, being constantly distracted all time reduces your ability to focus. Stop going on Youtube or Somalispot use ColdTurkey to block website that are distracting.

This is first and foremost a reminder to myself in order to stick to this system.

1. Set yourself clearly defined, realistic (incremental) goals that are achievable in a reasonable timeframe.
A to-do list app (with calendar integration) where you can create sub-tasks will help you with that.
2. Use the pomodoro-technique.
I like using 2 timers for that, one to log the progress, gameify the experience and minimise distractions (like the Forest App) and one timer where I hit pause whenever I get distracted, interrupted, tired or finish the task earlier than I thought etc.
You have to commit to being productive in the time you set aside for productivity.
Start with 25/5 or 50/10 intervalls and modify it to your liking, once you got into the habit of using this method.
3. Discipline trumps motivation every single time, so just keep at it no matter if you feel like it or not. Sticking to the daily prayers boosts my ability to stay focused and disciplined.
4. Find accountability partners among your peers in Uni and create study-groups over Zoom etc. There are also productivity servers on discord like the forest study chat which helped me in the beginning by giving me an idea on how others organize their stuff.
5. Find yourself a healthy and recreational outlet through a hobby, sports, socialising etc.
6. Don't ruminate on the how's and why's of productivity, gathering too much info will hinder you in your effort to progress on your path. Just start and "just do it", you will eventually come across specific questions/problems regarding productivity, deal with them when they present themselves.
7. You can do it in sha Allah!
