Guys like him are surrounded by non-somali. I think you guys underestimate how little Interact you can have with Somalis. When I go gym, uni, work, clubs related to my hobbies. Its so rare to see a Somali even more if it a Somali women. Specially, when Somali women are difficult to interact with while non-somalis are always up for a conversation.

I met a Somali male feminist yesterday who was a very intelligent academic (he specializes in feminism in the digital world.

And I wasn’t suprised that he has a cadan wife (blonde). Why is it that most Somali men who are intelligent, secular and support gender equality usually the ones who marry out? Do we as women enable Somali men to look down on our gender as a whole? I’ve also seen Somali men who dates out and were more attentive to their children. My thoughts are that you should always marry someone who you could learn from. Having someone with a culture that’s exactly the same as yours leaves no room for improvement.

Any man who refers to himself as a "feminist" is a "pick-me". There's no other way to slice it. One can against the oppression of women and support gender equality in society without being a "feminist".

One of his interests is feminism in the digital world. I.e how technology can bridge gender differences in the developing world. It’s so sad that the popular translation of feminism in the modern world means complaining about manspreading and the freeing of ones nipples. Also, since he has pictures of his family all across his website I doubt he is looking for female conquests. Now tell me are you an advocate of women’s rights?

Also, the female pick me characteristic is marked by a willingness to shame women for disobeying men. Rarely have I seen a male feminist call for men to obey women, but if there is a such Male, then yes please feel free to refer to him as a pick me. Love you.

Oh I'm not going by that popular definition of feminism. I'm well acquainted with many of the ideals being pushed by the feminist luminaries of today. Many of these ideals are heavily intertwined with neo-marxist ideals.The feminist of yesteryear would be horrified to see what their movement has become. As for being an advocate for women's rights, of course I am as are most men and women today. But that does not equate to labeling oneself as a modern day feminist. Sure the popular definition does little to help the cause, but that is a coincidence more than anything else.
