Since we don’t have months in Somali and we use Arabic, Italian or English months. I decided to make it in af Somali. What do you guys think? lol

Yes, we do but they don’t make sense. The words are too long, it is basically a description of the months

But we do... we have months and days in somali but its only used by rer badiye.
Taam is arabic btw. Buux ama dhameystiran is somali

Dear sister Cawo Cawlo, Excuse my bad English but I’ll try to explain to you why I chose those names.

I called January = Aragto because it is the first month that sees the year

I also called March = Joogto. Well, here in North America most people think March is the slowest month of the year. This is the month were the long winter is supposed to end but most people think it is slow month because they can’t wait the spring. Same goes to college students who can’t wait for May to come.

I called May Socoto because that is when the fun comes. That is the month when college is closed. That is the month were people prepared to travel the summer. Socoto = travel

We should somalify our months not even follow the gregorian calendar as in the old days we nomads used to determine the stars but all that are now folklore
