Alshabab differentiate between fiqh and aqeedah. They accept shaafici fiqh books like safına al salat and minhaaj but they still consider ash'arites kuffar (at least their mufti does) and don't teach ash'ari aqeedah.
My thinking is that Somalis (alshabab, ictisaam, sufis, ash'arites, me) don't quite get these contradictory madaahib and we're just winging it.

If you ask any two sheikhs who claim adherence to the same madhab about caqeedah concepts like takfeer, you will get contradictory opinions. In fact, I have seen many sheikhs who self-contradict within the same argumente.
Caqeedah is like metaphysics - there are no clear lines, so ikhtilaf is inevitable. Except; unlike fiqh, ikhtilaf in aqeedah leads to Takfeering.
Adilah are subject to interpretation and not always grounded in empirical truth.

A book they share is aqida tahawiya. You’re exaggerating the difference within these creedal schools. They all agree on most of the usool and furuuc. The problem is they make a big deal out of their tiny disagreements and then excommunicate each other over these subsidiary matters.

yeah. they will give their students usul. when their students apply the usul on major scholars they condemn them as extremists. here is a perfect example of them dealing with the likes of ibn hajar. ibn hajar was also a transmitter of the burdah they declared as shirk. its contradiction or taqiyyah. i think a significant number of the big sheikhs use taqiyyah in this issue.
