Tigray as a whole has 6 million people, for context they are smaller then Galbeed.

Many ppl on this site are quite shocked by this as they have disproportionate power, but realize that it is because of the fact that they have unity and development, which both complement each other.

Mek'ele looks good because the TPLF is very strong, Meles built that city up (and his whole region up).
