Khat is an stimulant and intoxicating so why is it halal? I thought all intoxicants where haram

I didn't say it is halal either- there are arguments about it but most say makruh but tbh you will have to seek a scholar to answer definitively.

Oh phew, I saw an old thread the another day about some sheikh back home who legalised eating the flesh of Somali murtads and my mind immediately went in that direction

It has all the benefits and reasons that Khat is chewed for, it even tastes a little like it.

But none of the rubbish that Khat comes with. Your health improves, you feel a slight buzz and relaxed and that's it. Footballers use it too apparently.

It has a slight increased risk of cancer with long/high consumption but so does khat.
