I smell classism. Allow the youth to use colourful words among their friends. Stop imposing your will upon them. I'm sure they can code-switch in a more academic setting and won't allow it to trickle into their writing. I can guide them in a post-secondary atmosphere and help to socialize them as though they attended a parochial school. So, I'm not as evil as you think.

Alas, if they were to use formal English the homies would make fun of them and they wouldn't get a warm reception from their saxibs in Tottenham. It's about context.
