My point is, HSM and FGS are clearly engaged in a political struggle with Deni/Puntland that has to do with typical Somali political process.

Your reaction is undoubtedly disproportionate to HSM/FGS actions. You are not saying that you want to leave the union because South/FGS/somaliweyn politics is unresolveble and it's in PL's interest to seek independence, which I could understand.

You are saying you want to leave every time HSM does something that affects puntland, however mild, or has nothing to do with puntland.

And even if it did, the current political and socioeconomic problems of puntland will worsen and you will sink deeper than Xamar in the 1990s.

Ways to identify you're a citizen is a passport or national ID. Being a citizen gives you rights such as voting, visa free entry and living in somalia without prejudice.

You can be of Somali ethnicity and not be a citizen of Somalia ( a Somali).

If you're ethnically Somali you have the right to become a citizen of Somalia.

Ogaden,NFD, Djibouti and the Diaspora are not citizens of Somalia. They don't pay tax, and generally have dubious loyalty.

If we want to be a modern state we have drop this idea that everyone is a Somali citizen.

Finally, if you're worried about ceding our territory to ethiopia and Kenya. When we're strong enough, there's a military solution.

Nothing changes with independence, if anything the trajectory towards moderate political stability and economic development goes up, trade corridors remain open and customs fees are kept low for neighbouring Somali states, taxes will be collected, schools and hospitals built as they are now.

Puntlands economy and general infrastructure development has been outside the purview of xamar for decades sxb, that’s why I say we are in a union with the FGS not a part of it. Puntland was founded in 98 and the FGS was founded in 2012.

There is no regional bond between Lower Juba, Mudug, and Awdal.

Ethnonationalism is really what keeps Somalia from balkanizing. There isnt a world where we abandon that but adopt regionalism instead of balkanizing into clan states lol

Without it, even a legitimate Somali can face obstacles internationally and locally. It’s not just about Xamar.

Demented people on this site, like I’ve been saying. I don’t even think they genuinely advocate for the regions they claim to be from , they never talk about development, progress, local initiatives, or supporting those areas in any real or tangible way. They’re just consumed by political hatred and resentment.


There’s no rational thinking process behind it either. If Xamar stabilizes and progresses, it would only benefit all Somali regions as a whole.

The problem isn't paying a visa fee for diasporas, it's making sure the money isn't stolen.

I dont mind paying £60 or w/e every time I go Somalia, its less than 10 % of the plane ticket.
