At the end of the day, Eritrea has no reason to sweat this development. Saudi Arabia with their near infinite funds + western support couldn't even defeat the Houthis in Yemen. An invasion of Eritrea no matter how rich Ethiopia could be would be a nightmare to do.

All I'm saying is that there is nothing to really worry about this, Somalia/Eritrea will be fine. On the flip side, Somalis in Ethiopia may also benefit from the electricity.

The standard of living and opportunities will just expand for Somalia. Remember that world bank survey showed how 60% felt their lives were improving like it was better than 6 months ago and they percieved standard of living prospect as good across all urban areas nation wide.

You seen it with the rise in wages in different sectors through intervention improvement. SMES have better access to finances to grow. Improved access of services as well.

You are also seeing cross regionally they are moving aggressively to tackle youth employment to curb tahribs by rolling out technical/vocational education and training. They allocate a sizeable fund for youth development and also run entrepeneurship skills development program tv shows

The problem is that they are not creating a real domestic economy or addressing real needs. All these mega projects make no sense. Even prioritizing building highways before all else make no literal sense because most Ethiopians don't even own a car how can it be of use to them and they don't even have an active logistic sector, so they don't focus first on creating access to services, boost businesses, or earning etc or even boosting car ownership.

So between 2025-2029 their lives will get worse because their approach hasn't changed and Somalis people lives will just improve as it has been doing because our approach is correct.

MOU wasn’t worth paper it was written on. Ethiopia is 3rd world nation it cannot redraw borders. It’s equivalent of HSM working with ONLF and recognizing Ogaden. Egypt won’t do anything about gerd dam. It’s too late to destroy. HSM beholden to Ethiopia he has no choice. Especially when he attempting regime change in jubbaland . He also dependent on them in Hirshabelle and KGS.

Nah 1 billion is barely enough for anything when your population is over 100 million, 1 billion isnt even enough for Somalia which has only 20 million people, and importing stuff costs them way more than that on the long run, imagine you have port fees, customs fee, then you have to load the goods on trucks and drive it all the way to the highlands and other remote parts of the country, its really having a toll on their economy by way more than a billion

Something that would cost 1$ in Somalia could cost 10 in Ethiopia, or 100 now with how bad their currency is doing
