I don't think he'll try an extension but he will try to hold parliamentary elections and form a coalition with other parties so he can stay for 2 years, because the other 4 parties will be against any extension but he can convince some of them to form a coalition and let them have the presidency after he leaves. I think that will be his goal.We all know Deni is doing this for an extension till 2026. I am not making stuff up. He is expected to announce after the elections, saying we need more time (till 2026) to have 1m1v elections for PL president.
This isnβt about 1m1v, if it was just going to be used for council elections and then stick to them January 8th election, most of the opposition would not oppose.
Btw mideeye opposed the 5 party thing. So how can you say there was political consensus? Thereβs no public census of the population which is required in PLβs constitution to change it also.
Deni wants coalition partners (similar to what Muse Bihi wants to do to avoid Wadani winning) because heβs worried in a 3 party election mideeye would win. So even that heβs attempting to get around.
We shall be much the wiser post Local Council elections as to his intentions. So far, it is conjecture, and Abgaal & Ali H are right to trigger the alarm as a warning as to his ill intentions, but as the opposition, they are speaking of their interests, not that of PL.We all know Deni is doing this for an extension till 2026. Nature, dynamics, and end game of politics in PL is different from that of SL, and follows dissimilar trajectories. So is power concentration. Equally as important are lessons of recent history of attempted extension in PL. It has been attempted once, blood was shed, does not sit well with the locals, and has not since been thought of (both Xaashi & Faroole fancied it, but desisted), but then again, Deni is an anomaly, albeit has learnt valuable lessons from his amateur brinkmanship.Deni wants coalition partners (similar to what Muse Bihi wants to do to avoid Wadani winning) because heβs worried in a 3 party election mideeye would win. Indeed. Also you're mistaken, changing the number of parties doesn't require referendum or census, some articles of the constitution require that, e.g., the number of parliamentary seats.
Is that why Deni has disciplined ministers and anyone in his government who says thereβll be no extension?I don't think he'll try an extension but he will try to hold parliamentary elections and form a coalition with other parties so he can stay for 2 years, because the other 4 parties will be against any extension but he can convince some of them to form a coalition and let them have the presidency after he leaves. Mideeye was one of the 8 parties that suggested the constitutional change months ago, that's why they are not making a fuss. Also you're mistaken, changing the number of parties doesn't require referendum or census, some articles of the constitution require that, e.g., the number of parliamentary seats.
Two more factors to bear in mind:We shall be much the wiser post Local Council elections as to his intentions. So far, it is conjecture, and Abgaal & Ali H are right to trigger the alarm as a warning as to his ill intentions, but as the opposition, they are speaking of their interests, not that of PL.

But on a national scale, I want to see puntland politicans subject themselves to us. May 15th Deni will bend his knee for HSM and I cannot wait. MJ galgala Weβre our slaves 60 years ago and I want that to return to how it was but this time the chains will be worn in politics

HSM has Xamar, JL. Only has to focus on Deni as his political nemesis
