Vengeance
I have never been to southern Somalia; I was born in Borama. I have only been to Hargeisa and have visited places like Dir Dhaba. My family was one of those who fled Mogadishu when the war started, travelling from city to city in Ethiopia. Eventually, with the help of some local clansmen, they received refugee cards, and the rest is history.
I remember my father telling me about an incident when some Hawiye militia men captured him, mistaking him for a Darod. They were about to kill him when a Habar Gidir woman, who was our neighbour, intervened to help him.
Returning to the main topic, Somalia has become extremely tribal in recent years. While this tribalism has always existed, now that we are in the 21st century, countries must grow and develop. Weakness cannot be tolerated, especially given how Ethiopia and Abiy Ahmed's government are completely violating our sovereignty. In a nation where people do not see Somalia's interests as their own, who can we trust, and how can we address this tribal issue?
Now my question is how would you go about improving Somalia specifically the tribalism?
