How prevelent are these thoughts amongst Somalis?

So what we gonna do with the ayats that talks about the freedom of religion?:ayaanswag:
Islam does allow freedom of religion, non Muslims have lived under Muslim rule for centuries. They lived under Muslim rule as Dhimmis (protected people) and payed the Jizya (Small taxes), in return, they were allowed to practice their religion. The Ayat that talk about freedom of religion does not contradict the hadith to punish apostates, it simply means there's no compulsion to accept Islam, if you want to remain in your religion that's your choice. But to come to Islam and then leave Islam is a crime and under the Islamic legal system, the Muslim ruler would have him executed if convicted. He would be given a chance to repent for a period of time (3 days), they will ask him why he left Islam and they will try to bring him back to the fold of Islam, clarifying any misconceptions he has, if he refuses then he's to be punished by the ruler or his deputy, Qaadi or judge.

But there were incidents were some Muslim became apostates in front of nabi muxammed, and he didn't kill them or stunned them. How you can explain that?

Even Agnostic/Atheist Somalis from the big four are untouchables in Somalia, there was a distant uncle of mine, he was a HS teacher and used to mock Islam and Hijab in front of all us, our parents and relatives use to make excuses for him,Kulahaa 'Waa khafiifay because he read too many philosophy books in Lafoole".:dead:

Every time he yells at one of our younger aunts to take off the Hijab our parents would blame "Philosophy" for loosing his faith, for years I avoided reading about Philosophy and I thought it will create doubts on your Iman and I will eventually end up like that my crazy Gaal uncle.:pachah1:

There are many like your uncle. I won't expose but one of the former Prime Ministers is an unbeliever and an alcoholic and was in an orgy in the 90s. He was was older than his classmates. He was never at the masjid and always refused. The Somali community then was small and everyone knew everyone. There's a lot of gaals and "philosophy" readers in the older generation. They didn't ostracize him. He was popular and well liked.

I think I might know who you talking about but I also heard there is an EX a Somali PM who has few cases pending for raping minors, I am not sure if they dismissed it but we sure have some of the shadiesr MF in charge.

Most Somali politicians and even civilians hide their religious views and degernacy to avoid bringing shame to their family.
but we all know what is up.

When I lived in Upstate New York, Gen Illakajiir used to work as a translator for a Catholic charity and he was big time alcoholic, he used to even drink with his daughters, a year ago I told this info to Warsangeli women who supports him and she almost slapped me and even did a habaar one me.

I wish we had TMZ type of Somali show that follows around politicians , Farmaajo coming out of LGBTQ bar in Barcelona with his bf and Khayre sniffing crack in ally in NYC.:drakelaugh:

Narrated `Ikrima: Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to `Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn `Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade it, saying, 'Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire).' I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'" (Sahih al-Bukhari 6922)

It was narrated from 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said: "It is not permissible to shed the blood of a Muslim except in one of three cases: A soul for a soul, a adulterer who has been married, and one who separates leaving his religion." (Sunan an-Nasa'i 4721)

It was narrated that 'Amr bin Ghalib said: "Aishah said: 'Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It is not permissible to shed the blood of a Muslim, except a man who committed adultery after being married, or one who reverted to Kufr after becoming Muslim, or a life for a life.'" (Sunan an-Nasa'i 4017)

Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever changes his religion, kill him.'" (Sunan an-Nasa'i 4059)

This is another part or Islam we must change, killing apostates is giving islam a bad image in the 21st century.

I wonder what book Sh Shibli is talking about? Apparently a Somali wrote a book which says apostates shouldn't be killed.

And never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper.

-Surah Al-Baqarah 2:120
