Some of us are not fobs either in the uk and us. The earliest of us arrived in the usa the same time as them.
They are christians at the end of the day, probably why they have better image than us and assimilate easily

there are a lot of turkeys and Moroccans where i live. But they don't face the same challenges as we do. 90% get benefits. The majority is divorced. Kids are taken from them. They don't know how to dress. You can see a Somali woman coming from 20 miles. The mismatch of the colors hurts my eyes wallahi.

Its harmful to one's self image to take into account what others think of them , i couldn't care less what anyone thinks of me and i shouldn't i'm a black , female , immigrant and i'm muslim if i cared what people who hated me for each of my identities thought i would have killed myself because that would have been one suffocating life.

However it depends if you know a somali your perception of Somali's will be different than if you don't these days i'm seeing Somali youth hanging around bare non Somali's so i guess thats helping.

Take East Asians of example especially in University these usually stick with other East Asians and till this day they carry stereotypes about Asians despite many years going by why? because they don't socially integrate which in my opinion makes a difference in the long run.

i think is because during the said Barre collapse most Somalis were displaced nomadic and turned wahabist (still to this day don't know how) so ofcourse shipping these sort of people with tribalist mentality to the west will bound clash with society. Not only will they refuse to assimilate with the rest but will wear whatever there mentality states e.g. Somalis wahabist mentality. Turks who came to the UK were already westernized so didn't find it difficult to settle since Turkey is in Europe.
