Sweeping generalisations are never close to the truth.
I agree, many men prey on the vulnerability of women back home and lure them with the promise of wealth or legal papers. But what about young guys who have the option of marrying their peers in the diaspora or moving back and finding an equally educated Xalimo for reasons such as that they are closer to our roots, already established in the local community and the fact that many of us see our future in helping our motherland out of the burbur.
Also you could sponsor them to come to the West and further their education and Xalimos can do the same for the educated Faraxs back home. Talk about ways to increase the knowledge capital in the Somali society.
Of course it is preferable to marry someone of the same diaspora background for obvious reasons, all I'm saying is there is nothing more attractive than a woman who is highly conscious of her deen and dhaqan, speaks perfect Somali and can sing to you classic Somali songs without missing a line

“Niece” ummm how old are you tf@Samaalic Era you need to take one for the team and wifey @beenleey, my niece is suffering with her identity and religion, i have no doubt you will be gentle and forgiving
I know I said I liked you but I can’t think of anything worse than becoming a second wife to my ‘cousin’. Let’s not even start on how you’re everything I dislike. I consider myself lucky that I’m technically haram for you.My dear cousin @beenleey, its time we tied the knot and join the family
This is devastating to hear from a Sacad. How did you hide such hatred“Niece” ummm how old are you tf
Plus I’m not suffering with any of those, however if was to somehow marry Samaalic Era I’d hate end up hating Sacad siciid, somalis and islam

I like you but as a internet cousin who’s actually a stranger who’s values/ideals won’t affect me. That sounds rude butThis is devastating to hear from a Sacad. How did you hide such hatred

Honestly,I will get married to whoever I want.Restricting yourself to one people isn't a must. You might miss the chance of meeting and falling for one of the most attractive people both inside and out just because of having a 'Somali only' rule.
