I dont think so they lost over 7000 people in the laascaanood war they would never want to be ruled by isaaq and be slaves of isaaq, that would be very shameful, warsangali plays both roles or maybe 3 roles they say they are part of north east and part of puntland and also part of Somaliland , Dhulabahante can never go back to Somaliland , they will be on the side of who ever rules mogadishu untill the forseable future. even if they dont have development they would never give it all up and be ruled by isaaq

i think it is now but i think in ten or twenty years they wiill get tired of being ruled by hawiye and then say isaaq is aour brother better then hawiye so it is not impossible but it wil take a decade or so
Isaaq were the ones who shelled them, killed them, and persecuted them. That isnāt something they are going to get over.
It seems people have forgotten that the USC militia once killed, maimed, and violated raped light skin Dhulbahante women in Mogadishu, and slaughtered their elderly, forcing the entire clan to flee to Utanga. If the Dhulbahante have managed to forgive the USC for those atrocities, what makes anyone believe they cannot reconcile with the SNM? As though the Isaaq were somehow a more bitter enemy than the Hawiye ever were in the 1990s.
Allow me to offer an historical example: after the Dervish wars of the 1920s, barely two decades later, the Isaaq and Dhulbahante were living harmoniously together in Aden and attending Sheikh Primary School. In Sheikh, intermarriage between the two communities reached its height. I would therefore argue give it a decade, perhaps even less and cooperation will return.
Indeed, I sometimes believe that the Dhulbahante are not fundamentally opposed to the Isaaq or to the idea of Somaliland itself rather, they seek more favourable terms and greater recognition within it. One wonders how we moved from figures such as Xaglatoosiye and that other petroleum hass guy, both running for national office within Somaliland and having a political party then , to the establishment of a sub-clan state aligned to hawiye , not even aligned to their fellow harti. we saw how galaydh wanted an all inclsuive Somaliland before he died., Dhulbahante isnt against secession of Somaliland to be free from Somalia , remember Dhulbahante always used ot say we oppose Somaliland because they are dividing darood along colonial lines. Bu tthey themselves base the khatumo border , on that same colonial border between sool and sanaag and nugaal and bari., meesha wax kalo ka weyn bala isku haya. Dhulbahante isnt against Somaliland secession, they just dont want to be left behind. would it make sense that they break ranks with mj and their harti clan members and then make alliance with hawiye for what exactly what is there to gain., it takes just for hawiye and isaaq to be friends again if another hawye takes over mogadihsu, and they will sacrafice you the same way hsm didnt care when isaaq were bombing laascanood and was calling for peace lool
They were never ruled by anyone, they were part of the political process with MPs Governors Councillors until a crazy man misled them to not be under Somaliland and promised greater prosperity under tribal supremacy

Isaaq secesion is bigger then only the siad barre attrocities Isaaq know that hawiye and darood will never slow isaaq to be president or any other dir for that matter this is the main problem if isaaq had the idea that they could rule Somalia in donāt think they would secede

its not the way you thinks go, grievances has to make sense in a certain sense , Dhulbahante need to think what is strategic what is good for them , when the dhulbahante broke ranks with majeerteen the one and only true brother they had when isaaq was killing them, the way you have repaid your own kit kin , tells you everything hassan is just using you against Puntland and to some extend against Somaliland, i can understand why you want to be used against Somaliland by do you want to be used against your own people a place where your clan holds the vice president and has actually a say in its affairs.
