I used to talk to an Ethiopian Jew briefly. In one end, he will talk about the discrimination and bad conditions his people face in that country, speaking of harassment from police getting slapped up and held in custody for no reason. I'm not even that harsh, heh. The Ethiopian Jews are Jewish insofar as they claim they are, which is okay from a collective self-identification point of view. Of course, genetics and anthropology, based on the information we have today, does not point to greater closeness with Jewish populations relative to people from their region of origin, that is, if we want to be overly strict about the objective of finding possible justification of authenticity for historical adherence through linking possible DNA influence from back in time.

When Ottoman empire expanded greatly it was Jews who divulge the secrets of surrounding European empire to the Ottoman. I always wanted to know what are the Somalis view on Jews (Not just Euro Jews, but all Jews). I'm a Black AA Jew that's converting. In the AA community there's 50/50 views on them. However, on here I rea that you all respect their business like accumen.

Good luck converting. Those rabbis are strict when converting gentiles. Also, your conversion is not transferrable. One sect may take your conversion while the other may not. Israel gives born Jews a hard time too when they have a non-Jewish parent even if their parent converted or not. What are you converting to reform, orthodox, Hasidic? Either way, one Synagogue may take your conversion while one may not and you may not be able to be buried with other Jews. That is a problem in the Jewish community they don't talk about it out loud they have, a problem with who is or who is not a Jew. Their religion is too strict in my opinion. Islam is more welcoming and taking more members that is why it is the fastest-growing religion in the world.

Another thing for you to be an AA converting to Judaism where you will be under the Ashkenazi hegemony and scrutiny why do you care about the opinions of Somali Muslims on Jews?
