True, I forgot about Iran. They are still both under the same command though. But the IRGC have a different mission set to the main army, they operate overseas, are ideological, and they are also politically loyal to the Islamic Revolution not for the country. It’s ideal for Iran because even if the main army does a coup, the IRGC will defend the regime which is why it was created in the first place as the main army wasn’t trusted. Either way, it’s not really similar to what you’re proposing in Somalia and the circumstances are completely different.

AS is strongest in high density, multi ethnic populations and mountainous regions.
PL is not densely populated compared to other regions in the South, it is homogenous ethically and it’s mostly flat land so Shabaab wouldn’t have any hiding spots when the local forces roll in.

Al-Shabab waa Somali, don't hide behind minorities who can't even breath, let alone speak. And mountains in the South? Since when? AS is in bed with Hawiye, with backing from all the major clans, they even have MJ recruits, but the fact remains that Hawiye is their main source of power, both militarily and idealogically, there's a reason why they thrive in Haiwye dominated territories.

Your right. If you look at SWS for example specifically lower shabelle region and you look at how densely populated the region is and how many villages there are. One city can have 100s of villages under it.

The place is so populated. Very diverse too. And the amount of forest regions makes it easy to hide away from military forces.
Everyone knows each other in Puntland, very hard to hide as a Shabaab terrorist within a neighbourhood and the place is a desert mostly, niggas will show Bari as if that represents every 10% of PL lol. The moment any government forces come in, as a terrorist you have to flee.
Let’s not forget the amount of farms and food production potential in the South. You can’t hide out in Puntland unlike in the South. Many rivers, lush green. You can tax this all as Shabaab to provide you significant revenue income.
This is the reason alkebab will be in the south for a long time. These negroes don’t know what personal responsibility means. Did shabaab fall from the sky? No they people from those regions.
I do agree that there needs to be a harsh and urgent military offensive against al kabab but all we are noting is the difference between the al shabaab infested south and the northern regions that are not so infested with al kabab.
One thing is I do respect the fact that somaliland and puntland are very harsh against extremist and have been able to keep them out. But this is the fault of the government and not the people.

In my opinion I believe we should get assistance from Ethiopia to deal with the al kabab problem. We should give them the freedom to release a lot of troops within Somalia building more bases and they should carry out military operations until Somalia is free from al kabab. In return we will give them access to the ports of Barawa, Kismaayo, Marka And Hobyo. This was actually the plan of the previous president which I think is a pretty good Idea.
