How did Ethiopia survive the Scramble for Africa?

How was it partial in comparison to other Africa countries? Colonizers never fully occupied the country side of most countries.

And most countries had guerilla movements fighting the colonizers. Somalia had multiple. Still you were occupied and saved by other euros.

Accept reality.
Somalia was colonized for 40 years. Ethiopia was occupied for 5 years.

Colonization is a long process, having some control over a country for 5 years is too short of a time to be considered colonization. Same reason why Nazi Germany's occupation of Poland and France is not considered colonization.

A lot of the countryside was still controlled by guerrillas, who even tried to take control of Addis Ababa at one point, and did liberate Shoa. Now I'm not saying that they would have taken back control of the country, but it would have taken many years to fully quell the rebellion.

Again... who made up those rules? Did you just? Or...?
It was Europeans no doubt.

But did you make up that criteria?
