Ima say this… most people nowadays recognize that couples are both working … so it’s only fair to split it … but …

The amount of somali women I know that are working alongside their husbands and STILL doing all the cleaning and cooking and taking care of the children ? You know what they would confide in me ?

They lost attraction to their husbands and built resentment towards them. They lowkey hated them cause they wouldn’t help with the household chores.
The husbands would often wonder why they didn’t have time for “jiggy jiggy” with them and they would tell me how it’s hard to even do that cause they’re not being helped with the chores and still having to work smh.

Mind you these were all older couples I knew in their 30s. And fob, aka came to Canada from various African countries ( Kenya , Uganda, etc ) a few years ago.

If they confide in you… That means they respect your opinion.. what do u advice them?

Amina Islamically it’s mens responsibility to provide and protect their family. Cooking and cleaning shouldnt be big deal if the father is helping with the kids. But the problem in Somali community is that women do everything household chores plus the kids.

I don't get why women do this to themselves and then whine. Somali men are notorious when it comes to not doing anything while the wives slave away so they should vet them better. I'm sure it was obvious what type of man they would marry when they met him. At that point, isn't it your own fault that you're the man's mommy when it comes to cleaning and cooking and his bangmaid when it comes to the sariir
