Yes. They are not from the same phylogenetic branch of Ancient East African.
They have high amounts of Ancient North African and are indigenous to their lands, something this guy doesn't wish to grasp because he has an agenda. And yes, there are Copts with type 4 hair, even though they have some of the lowest amounts of SSA admixture among North Africans. This emphasizes the point that it occurs independently of admixture. There isn't anything particularly novel about it. And as we affirmed, afro-textured hair is found in Southwest Asia, Polynesia, and Oceania. Yet they lack African admixture. I don't even think there is a trait unique to Niger-Congo descendant Africans. Not dark skin, not afros, not even broad features. So I don't know what it is. And who is to say ancient Africans, going back 200,000 years, looked the same?
